A Pretty "Mid" Bi-weekly Period for Content

In which Arielle is not thrilled with her output for the past two weeks but affords herself grace due to the overbooked nature of the second week in her schedule, as well as receiving some devastating news about family. The highs and lows of the past two weeks culminate together to create a seemingly "Mid" blog for the period.
Another two weeks have gone by...and I wish I could do it over, impossible as it is. The first week I think I did fairly well, continuing work on the coloring page piece as well as throwing myself in the mix of an intriguing Game Gen Project where I will be doing some 2D concept art. The second week was a disaster, partially because I was absolutely swamped with appointments, as well as feeling the effects of the time change, and learning some hard truths in my personal life. Don't worry, this is exceptionally private. I won't be trauma dumping.
So, a relatively short blog, to keep my sanity...
But first...I just want to say...I'm sorry for not getting to the fanart of your wonderful creatures Juan! Yeah....Juan...you get a shout out, lol! NEXT WEEK, I'm specifically devoting some of my time to that, because I've been threatening and promising for AGES....and I'm disappointed I didn't get to it this time. So yeah...next two-week period.... I am putting it on the official docket of things to accomplish. No more if, ands, or buts.

I'm happy with how it's looking, and though I'm sure it looks finished to most, I have just a little bit more to do...adding the final touches on the glowing effect created for the lettering and putting in the lights and darks for the bottom foliage. At that point I'd call it finished.
I had planned to finish it, and after that, I was going to do some creature creation/concept work of both my own creation and maybe a drawing or two of some other students works that I really liked and wanted to do "fanart". This plan went out the window when Game Gen brought up the idea of working on a group project, code named: "Blue Hair". I wanted to contribute, since another one of the things I was hoping to do this month was enter into a Game Jam, but this month it involved a program I have not yet attempted to use....and needed a story, which...I didn't think I had enough time to come up with said story, not for an RPG! Not only that, but it involved concept art, which I need more practice doing in a group setting. Not sure what I can and can't show of the work I've done thus far. In truth, the majority of the work I've completed is from the first week, as the second week was basically a wash considering everything. Disappointed on how delayed my progress is, but I'll most assuredly be working on it and hopefully finishing what I owe in no longer than a .... though being done sooner is more desired. Here is some of the concept stuff... (I may have to delete some of this to keep the project more secret, but I think I can at the very least show these bits off, since these designs didn't make it to the next stage.

I was tasked to design a plant; this was something I threw out before I knew 100% what the project needed or the function of the asset. Words and phrases being said were pulled randomly to create this. A fernlike plant what produces a silk tail of hair which is blown by the wind, wherever the silk dropped, another plant could grow...even on living creatures.

This was my attempt at drawing the idea for the functionality of the asset, based on the piece that sparked the idea. This plant matches (to some degree) what was in the piece they were using as inspiration and so is more of an experimental piece than an actual concept art piece. I learned what I needed from this drawing and went on to the second design, which was green lit for the next steps. I'll edit this blog to show the image below if I'm allowed, but just in case more secrecy is needed...I figure that's likely the image to leave out.
I was told I could share....so this was the idea which was green lit:

So, what is in store for the next two weeks? I'll be finishing the final bits of the coloring page (so I don't give up before its finished). I'll also be finishing up a Detailed cleanup of the design that was greenlit, as well as a turnaround of the finalized design, which helps the 3D modeler do what they need to! I will also be working on doing some random creature drawings (Juan's Fanart included). If I get these things done...I might return back to Tank...since...I just kind of want it done at this point...so I can dedicate myself more fully to more of the art stuff I want to do, without having an unfinish project dangling somewhere.
