Project X

In which Arielle decides to focus on a world building project. In truth it had begun long ago, little bits and pieces, at least 3 or 4 Arctic creatures and at least one creature from a mangrove like swamp. But this should be a little more extensive. Project X is it's working title.
Things are beginning to calm. It's not really a comfy place necessarily, but it is less chaotic. Sometimes that's the best one can hope for. At least I know that for the rest of the year there will be minimal appointments taking me away from the project I'm working on, which is good. This is the kind of project I lock in on and become surly when it's interrupted...one of the last types of projects I get that excited about.
I used to worldbuild a great deal in my youth, and from time to time I still think about the Eru System and Ayanula.
I started the project with this:

Just something to kick it off, the past two weeks have been devoted to getting a bunch of background information sorted and written down for future reference. Things like: The crew of the SS Quantum Horizon and the celestial system and the planet they will be answering the distress signal from. Come to think of it...I should likely start figuring out the crew members of the USS Firebird as well...even if most of them will be.... well...spoilers...
I have been basing a lot of the crew and such on Star Trek ranks and roles, etc. I'll be going back and changing "alien" species into their own things instead of stuff just saying "Betazoid Based" or something. If anything, they will be very loosely based on those beings. I just wanted to try to have a more integrated feeling crew...since I do believe that given the chance...wed probably create a Federation and such involving multiple races and creeds. Just makes the most amount of sense to me.
These are my notes so far.... As you see not all the names of the crew of the SS Quantum Horizon are there yet, but I have at least singled out the main roles. It's kind of hard to read I suppose since I have some side notes which bleed into stuff, but here's what I got:

Bitters and Itz'Ibi are based on this cute story by Mummy Joe.
These are some of the links to the other Generators I'm using to help come up with names and such...including some screencaps I took to remember certain things for use later and such.
This is how I got the names for the Medical Officer and Counselor

This will likely be reworked a great deal...but I used this generator to get more information about Dr Dir and Counselor Dir.

I think whatever generator I use I'll be doctoring a great deal...but still...it gives a nice basis and at least lists the kind of basic information needed for any alien species.
Oh! I also participated in one of the last mini jams...the prompts were Turkey, Forest, and What You're Grateful For.
I hope soon to be done with the crew information.... I had also been working on the celestial system that the SS Quantum Horizon was heading in the direction of...but I don't have anything too definitive about that yet.... other then I think I want to make it a binary star system...with perhaps more than one inhabitable planet/moon, etc.
