In which Arielle, now understands the warnings given by more successful Youtubers, and learned another valuable lesson in the road to potential Let's Player-dom. Thats right folks...Kingdom: Two Crowns is out... Amber Isle is in. Sometimes that's just the way the shale cliff crumbles.
20 minutes 'til Presentation time....LET'S GO! It's MORPHIN' TIME! FORM OF ARIRAPTOR!

I'm sure you are wondering about the other game; that just last presentation I had said I'd be editing into my first "Let's Play". Well...as I began editing...something became apparent that I hadnt considered when recording or even as I started the editting process. That something...is Jump Cuts sans the 30-degree rule. With 9 years of film and animation school under my belt...that was a big no-no. You see the game I was editing...was a side scroller game.... meaning the "game camera" only moves left and right...and while some games of this type may have a zoom in or zoom out feature...the problem with this game...is that the camera is stuck moving left and right...with NO other variation. Not only that.... but due to my lack of understanding how to edit sound...or really...anything sound related (yeah, you'd think in the 9 years I'd have somehow elbowed my way into a recording class.... nay) ...left me with some really blown out and constantly peaking audio. Another NO. I knew that much...
I decided to play a game that far more likely had different camera angles. I also had to teach myself how to make the sound in OBS sound as good as possible without peaking. This was hard...because...while I may have skills in many places...Sound and Sound Theory...is where my IQ tends to plummet. I know I have audio delay issues, and that may be part of it...but its hard for me to figure out how to manipulate sound. It took me way longer to record decent audio then I thought it would.
I also ran into trouble with the game itself. It required reading out loud...which at best...I read very slowly out loud...always have...unlikely to change at this point. Text go fast. Ari panics. An hour later...maybe I have a semi-decent recording of that part of the game. I was flustered, blindsided, and very nervous at that point.
In fact, by the end of the recording...I was so discouraged, I thought I'd have to record the whole thing again. However, I knew I was running out of time to get something in for Blog reviews...so I attempted to salvage the recording to the best I could. I definately made some mistakes...but overall, I think I managed a Salvage quite well.
The reality, however, is the edit needs more time...and more royalty free sound sources. So, while I don't have a video to show per say...I think another good week of work will produce a finalized video.
I know what I must do...Now I must simply do it!
