In which life shows its hand and it's blackjack.
I thought about doing what I normally do for my blog. Update those reading with various things going on in life, before moving on to what sort of creative project I'd been working for the past two weeks. I've decided to make this short and sweet. As short as I can make it, while still making sense.
Bowie, my corgi, about two and a half weeks ago, suddenly lost the use of his back legs. Not only has this hindered his movement, but he is also on heavy-duty painkillers for his herniated spinal disk and due to his condition, can no longer use the restroom on his own. My family can't afford to go through with the procedure to correct his back and physical therapy to regain use of his back legs.
This has changed my life and routine drastically. Part of that has to do with my attendance to Game Gen. I will be going on break from the program for an unspecified amount of time by the end of May, when Bowie will be back from his stay at his Physical Therapy Clinic he is currently boarded at while I tie up some loose ends.
Bowie is family - my son. "...[F]amily means no one gets left behind...or forgotten."
That is all.
Here is some art I've been doing for the past several weeks. Some of this time was spent taking care of Bowie, but what time I had not doing that resulted in the following:
Above was some initial sketch practice for what was going to be the beginning of the Wyvern Fanart Creature Concept by Juan.
I had initially planned to do creature creation for two weeks, but I found myself drawn to Blue Hair once again...This time working on concepts for a background with parallax. I was able to finish the sky and cloud concepts before the accident.
Closer look at the Sky Concepts:

There was also a day where Andrew took time to teach me how to use a plugin for Blender to allow me to paint directly on a model. He gave me a model to play with (only about 30 mins of fooling around and practice, my first time using Blender):

After a short break to take care of Bowie, I came back to Game Gen yesterday and started on the concepts for the rocky outcrop in the BG... This is what I've got so far for this WIP:

Since I will be here for a very limited time, I'll be finishing what is owed for Blue Hair. Juan's Fanart will likely be next on the to-do list if by some miracle I finish the Blue Hair stuff with time to spare.
