In which Arielle is not ok. There is a sense of familiarity in the situation being faced, and of dread. Arielle was hoping to never go back there. There must be something that can be done to make the future less uncertain...

Well....I've got about ten minutes to blogs...and a long story to tell...So, I'll skip the story and go directly to the two things I was hoping to complete with this blog entry...

First, I want to say thank you to all the mentors, you have all been lovely and extremely supportive at every turn, and I genuinely can't express the gratitude I feel for that. For the students, thank you for your friendships. Before I came to Game Gen, I was a recluse hermit for the better part of a decade, in which time I had come to be decently misanthropic, distrustful, and bitter. I had no friends, the people around me would routinely take advantage of me and my only daily company was my Bowie and Service Staff....staff not always being kind or welcome in my house. You all reminded me what it was like to be passionate about art and creating again, and for that reawakening I owe you all my life...Honestly. And the friendships I've been able to make, have helped to heal some parts of me too. So, thank you, deeply, and from the bottom of my heart.

I am hoping my meeting with Sage will find some sort of alternative to stepping away entirely.

For the Blog...

Well...blogs are already starting...and I should get in the showcase. So, I'll try to be very fast with showing what I was able to complete in my last two-week period.

I was mostly working on the Concept Art for the look of the Mountain Range in the background I'm slowly conceptualizing for the Blue Hair project. I was able to finally finish all the different variants I wanted to try. I'm fairly happy with them all...though for the purposes of the design I think option A or D are going to be the direction we will likely go in. You can vote for your favorite style in the showcase channel.

Close ups of C and D to show what might be hard to see...and the beginnings of blocking out the trees to create the next part of the background: the Treeline.

I also did a quick sketch for Josh of one of his characters:

I still have much to do with the project.... but for now.... until I have a better idea of what daily life is going to look like...I will likely have to pause my progress. If the work has to be passed on in order to complete the game, absolutely no worries, do what you all need to do! If I do come back and can devote time, I'm happy to take up whatever, as this project has been very fun.

This is goodbye for now.
